Flavored Tobacco Information

AVAILABLE DOCUMENTS

Below we provide a number of informative handouts on flavored tobacco that are directly related to the San Joaquin Valley (SJV), and can be freely downloaded. Please see the list below for direct links to all items, or scroll down the page to find all relevant information.

Menthol and Mint Data in the San Joaquin Valley

The NCPC has been collecting data within the community on tobacco use behaviors since 2019. The evidence shows that there is a large portion of the population that is undecided regarding flavored tobacco product restrictions. As menthol/mint restrictions are being considered, there is an opportunity to significantly sway the public, which means that monitoring industry tactics is even more important in the coming months.

The NCPC is here to help. These freely available resources have been written, in association with the American Heart Association, specifically to help ensure communities within the San Joaquin Valley have the information they need.

COUNTY LEVEL FLAVORED TOBACCO INFORMATION

Looking specifically at County level data within the San Joaquin Valley, the NCPC Citizen Scientists and researchers, working closely with our community partners at the California Health Collaborative (CHC), have developed a number of useful flavored tobacco info-graphics. These info-graphics are currently available for Merced, Stanislaus and San Joaquin County using available data, with more being developed for other San Joaquin Counties. All are freely available and can be downloaded for use within communities, or to hand out at meetings.

Two options for each county are available, depending on intended audience:

  • The white and red version is to help parents / caregivers.
  • The black and yellow version is intended for use with community organizations, those interested in tobacco control and local health departments.

English and Spanish versions of each are available. Please click the images to download the PDFs as needed:
