THE NCPC HAS FOUR MAIN AIMS
In order to achieve the main mission of the NCPC, and address the gaps in nicotine and cannabis control efforts, the overarching specific aims of the center are as follows:
To establish grassroots support for:
a) Responding to emerging tobacco and cannabis control policy needs
b) Aiding & advising individuals and organizations on enforcing existing tobacco and cannabis control policies, point of sales, smoke-free indoor air, vaping, and recreational cannabis retailer regulations.
Monitor tobacco and cannabis control policy efforts in the region, document challenges to enforcing those policies, and identify emergent policy issues.
Support both short and long-term research projects that will inform tobacco and cannabis control policy at the local and state levels.
Establish a visible and stable presence for tobacco and cannabis control policy research and coordination in the San Joaquin Valley.
