BRINGING COMMUNITY LEADERS TOGETHER
To help achieve the main aims of the community core, a number of workshops have been planned and developed with our Community Partners - The American Heart Association & Healthy House. These workshops aim to bring together community leaders, public health officials from the counties of the San joaquin Valley region, legislators, health experts and scientists with the express view of learning from each others experiences and successes, while also reviewing ways to develop more effective policies at the local and State level.
- Workshop 1 – NCPC community partners (AHA, HH & California Health Collaborative): Held 11.30.2018
- Workshop 2 – A workshop for CBOs, community partners, public health depts and legislative leaders: Held 05.17.2019
- Workshop 3 - The second of our workshops aimed specifically at CBOs, community partners, public health depts and legislative leaders, was led by Dr. Denise Payan of UC Merced and co-hosted with the American Heart Association: Held 12.06.2019
- Workshop 4 - Our most recent summit, Connecting Communities Around Tobacco Policies, was co-hosted by the NCPC and the American Heart Association: Held 01.26.2023
