Tobacco Endgame Training Program

The Nicotine and Cannabis Policy Center is always looking for bright, highly motivated undergraduates who are looking to make a difference in their communities.

If you want to understand the research and policies around smoking and nicotine, while also learning about our local community partners, and potentially work with one of our local Public Health Departments via our Smoke and Vape Free Scholars Initiative (SVFSI) with CSU Stanislaus, we would love to hear from you.

Every Intern will have the opportunity to:

  •  Network with potential future employers
  •  Help improve the quality of lives of local residents
  •  Gain Course Credit
  •  Learn about tobacco-related theory, research, and policy control efforts
  •  Write and develop posters and presentations for scientific meetings and conferences
  •  Collaborate with interns from CSU Stanislaus and CSU Fresno via the Smoke and Vape Free Scholars Initiative (SVFSI)
  •  Gain exposure to research and help work on research papers with NCPC mentors and postdoctoral scholars
  •  Learn project management skills and develop interview techniques to help prepare for life outside of university

You can listen to previous NCPC and CSU interns describe their time in our program, and how their experiences help support them on their chosen career path: Intern Testimonials

We are currently looking for new Interns for the 2025-2026 so make sure you apply via: INTERN APPLICATION
