Tobacco Endgame Scholarship Symposium (TESS) 2025
The inaugural NCPC Tobacco Endgame Scholarship Symposium (TESS) held on April 10th, featured a number of podium presentations from tobacco control champions from local agencies, TRDRP Smoke and Vape Free Scholarship Initiative (SVFSI) alumni, and postdoctoral scholars. We also had NCPC undergraduate interns and CSU Stanislaus interns as part of the SVFSI, present posters of their research undertaken while working in the NCPC / CSU Stanislaus internship program.
This event aimed to highlight the breadth of nicotine, tobacco, and cannabis research and community-driven projects advancing health equity across the San Joaquin Valley and local foothills.
This year, speakers included:

- Jose Montoya - California Health Collaborative (CHC)
- Jorge Yepez - CHC’s REAL Project.
- Lara Al-Jaser - CSU Stanisluas Graduate and Smoke Vape Free Scholar's Initiative (SVFSI) Alumni
- Dr. Sara Schneider - NCPC Postdoctoral Scholar
